Let the Countdown Begin......

Hey everyone,
Today is the first day of the Big East Track and Field Championships here in Akron, Ohio. The 16 teams from the Big East will be competing and I am here to cheer on my alma mater University of Cincinnati. So if you get a chance check out my team at http://www.finishtiming.com/Big-East/2011/index.htm

I am so excited for these girls and I wish them all the best. Let's go Cats and make sure you go get you ONE!!!! Today is the day and the countdown is starting...who wants this and how bad do you want it. As a volunteer coach I have watched these girls prepare and I know THEY ARE READY and Special THings Can happen!!!!

As the week begins on Monday for me I will be counting down to my USA Indoor Nationals. I am ready and so excited to be back into shape. I have worked out hard and all I can give is my best. I will have so much support form family and friends and of course my number one fan will be traveling with me. Yes that's right Brooklyn aka Pika will be in the house and she is so much motivation for me.

This past week of practice went well and I can say that I am more confident, more prepared, mentally stronger, physically stronger and blessed by GOD. So to all you track fans out their get out and vote on usatf.org for the USA Nationals and help your girl out! Thanks again for the support, stay tuned in and let's be ready!!!

On a side note, I am excited about my upcoming Volunteering with a nearby school to the University of Cincinnati. I will be reading to young children and serving as an inspirational person. I love working with the kids and I hope through my story and life they are able to see that Good things can happen and all it takes is Believing and Hard Work.......pass this knowledge along to someone.....

Patience.....

Hey everyone,
Thanks again for sticking by me and watching the Boston Meet this past Sunday. It is always a pleasure to allow you all into my life when updating my blog. I am able to give you the real deal on my life as a track athlete. Shout out to Kayley for coming to support me at the meet, another Cincinnatian who attends school in Boston. I know she had fun meeting the athletes and of course seeing me run ha ha. I can say that this meet was not my best but again it was an opportunity for me to race with great competitors. Going into this meet I was very excited and pumped about being back into 52 shape...Lord only knows how long it took for me to get here since the Pika (18 months!!). The race from the start was not in my favor and I tried to push harder through the second half and by then my competitors were ahead and I was behind. I didn't execute Coach Wineberg's plan.....yes....my start was not the greatest.....ta-daaaaa!!!!!

I would have loved to win that race, but I placed 3rd and I can say that I am not a sore loser and was very happy for both Natasha and DeeDee. The women's 400 has always been a quality event and when you step on the line on race day you better have it or someone else will. I have always been a fighter but now I see that my fighter mentality has to go up a notch. I was not satisfied with my race and will make it better. Patience...is a must!!!!!

Which brings me to another good point....I hope I don't ramble on ha haha. But you all know through my hardships I have never complained, or blamed anyone, instead I have held my head high and allowed things to work there way out. I hate when athletes give excuses of why this or why that. In my case I could be full of excuses....Let me remind you all that I am an athlete doing it all on my own, no sponsor, no contract and just depending on the Blessings of GOD and my family. I take my downs and they push me to be better and I take the ups as a sign to keep moving towards my goal.

I am hungry for the Ultimate Goal: Daegu & London.....are you all ready for the ride? Thanks again for following...
